Simulation and experimental study of fragment penetration into armored steel plate

Abstract In order to study the penetration ability of fragment simulation projectile(FSP) armored steel target, and detect protection target plates with different thicknesses. Combined numerical experiment, process FSP on thickness ratios is studied. The design implementation preparations were made for damage plate by fragments, relevant data obtained analyzed. analysis results show that finite element experimental are in good agreement, ballistic limit targets thicknesses calculation formula residual velocity obtained. research provide basis support evaluation, improvement vehicle capability.
